Dear colleagues, I would likle to convert an sdltm file to be able to use it with Wordfast? Is it possible ? Many thanks in advance, Pierre
Export the Trados memory containing the content of the file (your translation) into TTX, then convert it using Olifant into TXT. | | | Neither TTX, nor TXT, but TMX | Mar 3, 2011 |

SDL Trados Studio's translation memories only support the export into TMX. 1. Export this TM into TMX 2. Load the TMX into WordFast. That should be working. | | | Pierre Mikaël Ligavan (X) France Local time: 01:53 Spanish to French + ... TOPIC STARTER

I'm on the verge of buying my first CAT tool, have heard good things about all of them, but I'm wondering how to work on the market at large if file formats are not cross-program compatible. In other words, if you need to use Trados to export a .sdltm file into a useable format for WordFast, that means you have to own both programs. I appreciate anyone who can clarify this for me! Sincerely. ▲ Collapse

If you don't own Trados and you have an sdltm file then somebody must have sent it to you and they must have Trados. Simply ask them to send you a tmx file instead. In 12 years, I've never had anybody unable or unwilling to do this. Tmx is intended for just that purpose. When you have finished your translation, clean the document into a new TM and export/save this to a tmx to send back to them. | | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » SDLTM file to Wordfast TM Protemos translation business management system | Create your account in minutes, and start working! 3-month trial for agencies, and free for freelancers!
