The following extract is from a text about a company's production of acid oil:
"Pour diminuer les coûts de traitement des eaux grasses, XX a investi dans une installation de traitement des savons à leur source, dans le raffinage. Ceci permet de réduire la **charge polluante** de 70 % et de produire de l’huile acide exportée sur la France."
Can anyone give me a correct English translation of 'charge polluante' please? I'm finding very few relevant refs on the Internet and they don't help with the English translation anyway.
