Elena Petelos Apr 22, 2005:
Yes Oso, and numerous are the times when unlogged askers, request explanations in Thai, especially in monolingual. :-) Since, you correctly guessed and have already changed the question, certainly not a problem for me. :-)
Oso (X) Apr 22, 2005:
Elena, when you click in "propose an answer" link it says in blue letters: The asker requested explanations in: Spanish

She requested explanation in Spanish. So, I think it's a Eng.>Spa. question. Oso :^)
Elena Petelos Apr 22, 2005:
Hi, I am somewhat confused, was this monolingual or Eng>Spanish, because in my notification at least, it appears to be a question in English, not Eng>Sp. :)

Philosophiae Doctor, Doctor of Philosophy

Ph.D.
The preferred form for Ph.D. is to say a person holds a doctorate in (name their field of specialty). Second best is to say doctor's degree. Abbreviations and Post-nominals ... Ph.D. Doctor of Philosophy (from the Latin
