The context is a patient who has abdominal pain and is very worried about it but can be distracted from her pain quite easily, e.g. by chatting to her. She is described as having a 'stor psykisk overbygning'.
At first I thought it was to do with the psychological impact of the pain on the patient, but now I am wondering if it is something else.
