The main structure elements are press bent cold formed steel profiles, having a non-classifiable section, and hot-drawn elements, whose classification depends from the stress status.
It would be possible to check the above profiles as beam elements considering them of class 3 and carrying out an analysis in elastic field, or rather, without taking in note the plastic behavior. Due to this, it was decided to model them as solid elements comparing the Von Mises equivalent stress, resulting by the calculation of the most significant load combination, with the yield stresses of the materials, according to the Allowable Stresses Method.
The Allowable Stresses Method relates the resulting stress magnitude of each member of the structure with the yield strength of the material.
In accordance to DNV 2.7-3 regulation (Ref. A3), the allowable stresses for each material are equal to the 85% of the yield strength indicated above.

The constitutive law considered, for the purposes of verification of allowable stresses, is the elastic one.
