Spanish term

configurar/no se configuraba

present/was not present

...the element of concealment was not present as there was no secrecy involved. Also, "asegurado" in this case does not mean "insured", it means "seized" ie the seized weapon was found in the glove compartment, and therefore could not be considered to have been hidden, which would constitute an offence
Peer comment(s):

agree philgoddard : Or, more simply, "was not concealed".

appear (figure)/did not figure

Or "did not appear":

“by virtue of the fact that the element of clandestinity did not figure/appear in the introduction of insured objects”"

(or words to that effect)

identify / there was no identifiable

'... by dint of which there was no identifiable hallmark of furtiveness in the planting of the objects impounded..'

To identify vs. to identity as a common audio-typo by native English typists and very hard to spot at speed.
