The Accounts Manager, at the inception of the project, classifies the ongoing Projects into whether they are qualifying assets or non-qualifying assets. Any finance cost on any loan taken for qualifying assets shall be capitalised as per IAS 23 – Borrowing Cost and where the loan taken is not for a qualifying asset, the same is (charged to) the Statement of Profit or Loss and Other Comprehensive Income. The Accounts Manager computes the total amount of Project WIP to be capitalised during the month and adds it to the Borrowing Cost Workings Excel file.

The Accounts Manager, for borrowing costs incurred on non-qualifying asset categorises and allocates the Borrowing Cost of the respective Project to be (charged off) to Statement of Profit or Loss and Other Comprehensive Income and updates the same in the Borrowing Cost Working Excel file.

The Accounts Manager, obtains the Bank statement for all the Working Capital Loans and verifies whether the Working Capital Interest (charged by) the banks is as per the Loan Agreement. The Accounts Manager also verifies the accuracy of interest charged by the bank by performing recomputation of interest workings.
