One of the big problems today is that "conscience" is confused with our feelings and passions. Many people invoke the mantra "if it feels good, do it." Of course, if that were really a moral imperative, then God's law in essence would be, "Thou shall do whatever feels good to thee." That's a very wide road indeed! (see Matt. 7:13-14). Sadly for the hedonist, that verse is not in the Bible.

Prima dată am crezut că e citat din Biblie, la felul cum e formulat. Dar Biblia nu e atât de liberală și, în plus, la sfârșitul paragrafului dat de către tine scrie că textul în cauză nu se găsește în Biblie.
Așa că traducem liber, clasic :)

: Excelenta solutie. Poate: urmeaza-ti pofta inimii. Sau placul inimii ("tale" e superfluu). //Eu o stiu pe asta doar in original (apropos de "binecunoscuta"), asa ca nu mi-a cazut fisa :-)

Mulţumesc pentru confirmare! Da, dacă mergem pe varianta ta, nu mai trebuie "tale". Eu am preferat forma aceasta pentru că redă forma binecunoscută a poruncii a 5-a (*cinsteşte pe* tatăl tău şi pe mama ta...) :-)
