I am translating some recipes and I have a doubt about 2/3 cup light cream. Could it be "2/3 taza de nata desnatada"??

Cream is classified by its butterfat content. Heavy cream, used for whipping, is 36 percent butterfat. Light cream, sometimes called coffee cream or table cream, is 18-30 percent butterfat. If light cream is unavailable, use equal parts heavy cream and half-and-half."

This is what we say in Peru: cream we call it "cream de leche"; it is used to make sauces creamier of whipping cream. But I agree this can vary according to the country. Nata desnatada = sounds a little bit redundant.

Me acabo de dar cuenta de que aquí (en España) se le llama "nata para cocinar", en contraposición con la nata para montar, que tiene mayor contenido en grasa; supongo que es eso a lo que se refiere la receta (de hecho, aparece así en los bricks de nata).

En Argentina decimos crema liviana.
En otros países de habla hispana se usa la palabra nata.
