que soporta una caída de hasta 1,5 metros
A lo que se refiere es que si la cámara se cae a esa altura no se rompe. Por otro lado, es importante hacer la conversión a metros ya que no utilizamos la medida de pies. También se puede convertir a pulgadas (60 pulg). Pero me parece que metros es más usado.

Creo que los 1000 G es porque resiste a golpes de más de 1000 gramos.

No es exactamente una caída, no se habla de que caiga alguien o alguna cosa, simplemente descibe una distancia desde arriba, no dese abajo.
A ver si explico con ejemplo:
From the balcony there was a 5-foot drop to teh street (es decir, mi balcón estaba a la altura de 5 pies, o la calle estab a una distancia hacia aboajo de 5 pies)

Es decir: es un shock rating.
Lo que me sorprende es que no buscabas antes en la red, ya que, poner la pregunta como lo has puesto tu originalmente, con un contexto que no valía para nada, y suponiendo - yo - que ProZ era tu busqueda de "last resort" (que no sé decir en ES, siento), no me dí cuenta de que lo que buscabas estaba en la red, y faltaba Natalia para alertarme al hecho de que esto podría ser una 'frase hecha' en este contexto. En la WWW, al tener contexto, a veces muy similares al propio, estas en la situación de mejor entender y eligir la traducción correcta, sin necesidad de ponerlo como pregunta sin contexto en ProZ a la espera (muy aleatoria) de que encuentras con alguien (como en este caso, Natalia), que 'reconoce' el termino.
