English term

BP (RA)

English to Spanish Medical Medical: Cardiology
Estoy traduciendo un informe médico de un niño de 8 años y en la sección del examen físico dice:

"Vital signs: HR: 82 bpm; RR: 16/min; **BP (RA)**: 113/75 mmHg; oxygen saturation: 98% in room air"

BP = blood pressure = rensión arterial. ¿A qué se refiere RA aquí? ¿Right arm?

Gracias nuevamente

Gracias, María Claudia y Joseph. Alguno de ustedes debería colocarlo como respuesta oficial.
M. C. Filgueira Oct 15, 2013:
También pienso que RA = right arm. Como en este manual:

Joseph Tein Oct 15, 2013:
you're correct: Right Arm There are sometimes differences in right arm/left arm readings that are diagnostically significant: " A big difference between the left and right arm blood pressures can indicate a blockage in the heart or arteries. It is important to take readings of both arms to rule out any problems." And: "There were significant differences between the right arm and left arm systolic BP (p < 0.0005), ... " (see: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16193195).
