Esta zona o región de la vasija del reactor es la que rodea la altura efectiva del núcleo y las regiones adyacentes, por lo que sufre la irradiación más intensa de neutrones. Claramente tiene la forma de un anillo o cinturón. Hasta podrías llamarla cinturón de irradiación más severa.

: Tu respuesta no va desencaminada, porque la llamada beltline efectivamente circunvala la zona del núcleo; sólo que, a pesar de su nombre, no es una línea, sino una franja, un cinturón.
