La luz de relleno sirve para eliminar las sombras. Puede utilizarse una sombrilla hacia la que se dirigirá el destello de un flash adicional.

Corrección: No se dirigirá la luz de un flash adicional, sino de una bombilla.

No sé si habrá una palabra concreta en el gremio fotográfico, pero se trata de un "filler", o sea, podría ser una luz secundaria que "rellena" partes más sombrías o en este caso se trata de una "tarjeta" o "placa" que refleja una luz secundaria y atenúa el contraste lumínico.
