Pentecostalism
It is now generally accepted that the term 'Charismatic Movement' in its original usage referred to the practice of spiritual gifts and the baptism in the Spirit in the older, 'historic' or ***'mainline' churches*** since the 1960s. [...] Most observers consider that the Charismatic Movement, the practice of Pentecostal phenomena or of spiritual gifts in the ***'mainline' Protestant churches***, began in the Episcopalian Church in the USA in 1960, and in the Roman Catholic Church in the same country in 1967.

Es como se acostumbra a referirse a estas iglesias en el «lenguaje» evangélico o protestante. El término «tradicionales» les huele a católico a estas iglesias que rechazan la tradición y sólo aceptan la Biblia como regla de fe.

: Good point. "Traditional" can easily be misconstrued as "Catholic".

: And "traditional" is similar in meaning to "historic" which precedes it in the text. This is what it means--not some crazy little splinter or mushroom group, but a major, established denomination.
