• Synchronization Gateway interacts with the LWC client installed on the device and
the synchronization server. Using an optimised protocol to interact with the client, it
triggers a standard SyncML session with a SyncML synchronization server. Installed
on the operator platform, it is shipped either in standalone mode or with an Embedded
SyncML Server. Synchronization gateway characteristics are:
o Data Agnostic: support any synchronizable data.
o Pass thru technology: does not store user personal data.
o Multiple data source routing: can route data to any data store depending on
the source of the data to be synchronized.
o Device Aware: adapts the synchronized data to the LWC capabilities.
o Suspend Capabilities: support Sync pause function.
o Asynchronous process: can handle a sync session after the client has already
terminated the connection; enables
the devices.
