Discussion

Gene Selkov Jul 8, 2010:
if it is carried out after boarding, can also say "prevent disembarking".
Odile Raymond (asker) Jul 8, 2010:
Hello Ann,

It's a procedure that is carried out after boarding, and it includes counting passengers, etc.

Thanks, Drmanu.
Travelin Ann Jul 8, 2010:
Odil Is this a piece of equipment or an action to be taken by a member of airline staff? Something like the line the flight attendant always says "Please remain in your seats with your seat belts fastened until the aircraft has come to a full and complete stop at the gate." Or, even the fact that a flight attendant blocks the aisle from economy, to allow first class passengers to leave first.

this is not about escaping from a plane:) rather it involves passengers who have already gone through the boarding gate not being able to return to the embarkation lounge.

prevent passenger escape or warrant anti-escape measures for passengers

IMO
Peer comment(s):

neutral liz askew : people "escape" from prison, or countries when they are persecuted for example i.e. asylum seekers. Escape would imply "against a person's will"./The topic here is aviation, not medicine in any case:) Bonne soirée!

prevent trespassing / breach of security by passengers

I am not sure "escape" is a good word for this. "Escape" tends to be associated with danger.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Drmanu49 : the term used is escape as in medicine for people who escape treatment. Trespassing is not adequate here.
