Another idea to keep in mind. It's quite common in the US to say that a thesis (or PhD dissertation) is advised by a thesis/dissertation advisor. In this case, the individual would have PhD co-advisors. Given the original construction, co-supervision is fine, but I thought I'd just point out this wording, too.
