Well I think there might no problem at all. If it's the same thing -as I think it is- why should we add a word that might confuse the brits?

"ée" implies (communication numérique) et (electronique associée)
"ées" would imply communication (numérique et électronique) associées
as "communication électronique" exists in french.
I think there is no ambiguity anyway as "numérique et électronique" looks a bit redundant..
I also found this; "MSc in Electrical Engineering (master en sciences et technologies, mention systèmes d'information, spécialité communication numérique et électronique associée)...
