Discussion

Claire Nolan Jul 1, 2010:
The only problem with ''lounge area'' is that it is often for adults (alcoholic beverages served) and if the party is for kids, it is not a good environment. A separate room is often used for this reason. But since the asker's location is a supermarket (combined supermarket and bowling alley), the concept is probably different. It might be just a ''party area'', as suggested by Phil.

Also found: When you are finished bowling your host will come to your lanes and tell you the food is about to be served in the party room. All the children will then head to the party room where your host

I don't think it means a special room at all

if you read the list, all they are doing is making a distinction between the 'eating' part and the 'bowling' part.

So they offer a package that includes a reserved area away from the playing zone with a series of snacks etc. and then the hire of shoes, etc. for the actual bowling

Your package includes a reserved area within the "lounge" area of the bowling alley

That said, I have never been to a bowling alley in my life so I'm not sure whether "lounge" is appropriate

agree Evans (X) : "lounge area" is mentioned in lots of bowling alley websites. I would go with that.

agree David Goward : "Lounge area" sounds fine to me. Often bowling alleys will have a seated area away from the bowling area, which looks like any regular bar or nighclub.

agree Maria Constant (X) : Lounge area.

There's all kinds of things you could call it, but here's a suggestion.
