French term

augmentation d'une pleine tranche

French to English Bus/Financial Law: Contract(s) Collective Agreement
This is a collective agreement (Quebec). The employers are a mining company and railway company; the employees are members of a major union.

In the section on the cost of living allowance (COLA):

"À compter de chaque date d'ajustement, un boni de vie chère égal à un cent (0,0I $) de l'heure pour chaque ***augmentation d’une pleine tranche*** de .30 d’un point à l’Indice des prix à la consommation est payable pour toutes les heures travaillées et pour toute allocation de présence au travail reconnue avant la date d’ajustement suivante."

Not really understanding this. TiA

Discussion

mrrafe Feb 24, 2019:
each full 0.3% increase I think it means the hourly rate will increase by a penny for each full 0.3% CPI increase. Thus, e.g., a 0.65% CPI increase would raise the rate by two cents but not three cents (0.65% is more than 2x 0.3% but less than 3x 0.3%).

pleine tranche = bracket

Agree with MrRafe, I understand this to be a bracket increase of 0.3% (0.3 of 1 point) of the Consumer Price Index. The cost-of-living bonus is thus tied to a bracket increase of 0.3% of CPI.
