: when a piece of software is producing "output" it means usually something being printed / displayed on screen / sent to a file - not the case here// this the description of an algorithm, in programming you "exit" from a loop or a subroutine.

the ST is about programming;
"cas de sortie" in programming occurs when you have a conditional branching in the execution sequence i.e. a test is performed on the value of some variable and depending of the value found the programme is branching one way or another.
"cas de sortie" is to be found inside a "loop", (il s’agit de "sortir de la boucle") a recurring sequence that would never stop it there wasn't from time to time an "end of loop test" performed to decide whether or not to get out of the loop. Could also be a subroutine, in which case it could only be an “exit”.
If the value of the tested variable indicates it's time to get out of the loop or the subroutine, an exit condition is satisfied / an exit case occurred.
