Many thanks. I'm not so keen on "housing" for this part though.
agree Yvon de Tassigny : I see it as a bell/cover/housing for the traction rod.

Many thanks. IMHO, at least in the UK, the terms you propose (bell, cover, housing) would not be applied so naturally to this particular part with its particular function (even, as it does, having a vague resemblance in shape to a bell).
