Dental anatomy. Describing a scoring system for the results on root canal treatment following different irrigant activators.
The canaliculi ("dental tubules" I'm using) are either completely free of smear layer (gets a '1'), show slight scattered build-up of smear layer (that gets a 2) or the dental tubules are "en virgule" (en guillemets dans le texte). Score 4 is partially thick layer and a 5 is total smear layer.
My thinking is that the 'en virgule' means some kind of progressive buildup mirroring theshape of a comma (or an apostrophe).
What's your thinking?
PS GdT gives "dispersed shirnkage for a "cavité en virgule" (metalworking);I need something dentistry/medical/anatomical for this one.
