French term

sollicitées

French to English Medical Medical: Dentistry orthodontics
This is from a text describing the orthodntic problems and solutions. Am not sure how best to translate "sollicitées" here. Help very welcome

Here is the whole sentence:

Les racines dentaires vont être **sollicitées** et se déplaceront dans l’os de la mâchoire, cela grâce à l’activité des cellules osseuses qui permettent à l’os de se résorber (de fondre) ou de se reformer.

drawn in

going with the literal definition of solliciter "to pull or exert a force on" Does this make sense in the context of your document?

exerted

But you have to turn the sentence round. "Force will be exerted on the roots of the teeth [by means of a brace attached to the teeth and rubber bands and things] which will move/relocate in the jawbone ..."

In engineering, solliciter refers to stressing, application of a force or, in Eurocodespeak, an "action effect".
