French term

traumatisme en raquette

French to English Medical Medical (general)
Traumatisme en raquette avec mecanisme de torsion.

Anyone know the established English term for it?

Thanks!

oval-shaped injury What kind of injury are we talking about here? Presumably not a sports injury, which would be "de raquette" not "en raquette". If you Google "en raquette" you'll find it's common in FR, describing surgical techniques and various types of injury. (Read up, for example, on meralgia paresthetica in FR and EN.) The term refers to the SHAPE of the area affected - how it looks and/or feels - which is oval (like a racket/racquet). There are lots of hits for "racquet-shaped" this and that, but I personally would go with "oval-shaped", which is also found a lot and conveys the idea clearly. Certainly not "racquet trauma", which is meaningless....

This is unusual as 'raquette' is used for sports involving rackets, bats or snow shoes. Following on, 'avec mecanisme de torsion' is ' with a twisting or turning mechanism'. It might be a foot or ankle injury or a 'twisted ankle'.
