DOC: 1907 Museum catalog of ancient Egyptian mirrors. Catalog entry.
CONTEXT: Mirror. - Bronze, wood, and gold. Technique: Le disque est fondu, poli et doré au bain.
ATTEMPTS:
The disk is cast, polished, and gilded, i.e., immersed/plunged in a gold bath.
The disk is cast, polished, and bathed in a gold solution.
I have also found these terms as well: plating bath/gilding bath/wet gilding/water gilding
ISSUE: Not sure which is the best way to translate this phrase as I'm not familiar with the field of metalworking.

Suggestion Have you tried "testing" your ideas in English using Google images? It is a good way to track down suitable sources, here museums and collections, with similar objects and where you are likely to find suitable terminology.
