Hi there,
I'm translating some intellegence documents from the former French Colonial Intelligence Agency in Beirut. This particular document was created in 1945.
The source of one of the communications is "sûreté aux armées".
My best guess is this probably would translate at "Military Security" but I don't really have the historical knowledge of this period to confirm.
Any history buffs able to help?

not very obvious, but from these "historical records" their job seems to have been chasing enemy spies - so that would be "Counterintelligence"
