Quote from the website http://www.pianofun.com:
"Jazz pianists have very special voicings for their chords and tend to favor alternating between first inversion and third inversion."

The dolmetsch link is interesting for music theory (it is long, but it does mention alternating chords for jazz)
Peer comment(s):

agree Richard Benham : Is the dolmetsch link just for interpreters, or are translators allowd to look at it too?//PS I've just looked at it, and it's fascinating. Thanks. My first musical instrument was a Dolmetsch recorder, too!//Pun: dolmetschen (DE) to interpret.

Why do you ask, Richard? Anyone may look at the link, although it is only in English and it is not intended for translation purposes, it is very interesting for musicians and melomanes. Thanks for the clarification! I don't know German at all.
