Ces derniers temps, l’huile de canola a été plutôt malmenée dans le marché de l’alimentation naturelle. C’est qu’elle est victime de la controverse entourant les organismes génétiquement modifiés (OGM). Contrairement à la croyance populaire, tout le canola n’est pas transgénique! On doit distinguer entre hybridation, phénomène naturel dont est issu le canola de la transgénèse qui elle, implique l’intervention humaine afin d’intégrer à un organisme vivant un gène qui lui est étranger.
