I'm trying to find the best translation of this in English I think "health food" is along the right lines but it doesn't sound right! any help would be appreciated it's for a marketing article about high quality dog food.

RE: aliment de maintenance I'm translating an article promoting high quality pet food (dogs) and trying to find the best English equivalent for this expression, thanks it's 'un aliment de maintenance" and it's from a comparison study the manufacturers have carried out with other brands

This could relate to the different types of dog food that are available for dogs of different ages, active dogs etc.
"Adult maintenance food" is for normal, fully grown dogs.

This seems to be the accepted term in English too. I thought I'd seen it on the supermarket shelves (though I'm afraid my non-pedigree dogs don't get anything quite so exalted - good old Winalot for them!)
