French term

au charme millénaire

French to English Other Poetry & Literature
...est un lieu de villégiature exceptionnel pour partir à la découverte de l’extraordinaire diversité de cette vallée ***au charme millénaire*** : pittoresques villages, excursions en moyenne montagne et cures thermales spécialisées.

valley with olde worlde charm? Can anyone suggest a better way of saying this?

This is taken from marketing-orientated copy for a Chateau in France which has apparently been developed into a luxury residence for older people, and it gives very poetic descriptions of the area. I need to keep a slightly poetic feel to it, but can't think of how else to say this. Suggestions appreciated. Thanks
(P.S. for anyone all poetried out due to my earlier questions, this is the last one!)

Eric, yes, I like your 'ageless' too... well-suggested.
French2English (asker) Sep 25, 2007:
suezen, I like it... yes indeed, this is exactly what I need, but couldn't think of it myself... thanks - and look at the overwhelming agreement!
Eric BILLY Sep 25, 2007:
"ageless charm" to illustrate that some things remain unchanged while time is running

thousand-year patina

actually, "old world charm" sounds good...but there are so many choices..."millenary quaintness" , "traditional beauty", turn-of-the-century feeling", "that old je-ne-sais-quoi"...I could think of more, (still in that poetried-out mood) but let others have their chance...
