Discussion
To be honest, I was worried about 'solid'. However, after doing research, I discovered that the word is used to distinguish separator rings that have no moving parts from those that have a number of moving parts and are not solid.
That said, I would like to point out that Stavropoulos and Hornby’s Oxford English-Greek Dictionary gives ‘σταθερός’ as one of a number of ways of interpreting ‘solid’, so, the use of the word ‘σταθερός’ in the Greek text was not incorrect.
