I am a native speaker of British English and translate from both Polish and French into English. I am a full time professional translator with thirteen years of experience. This has involved translating texts of many different fields. I will consider any text for translation but will only accept a job that I feel comfortable with having viewed the content of the document.

I am currently based in Poland but have also lived in France in the past and am familiar with cultural aspects as well as the languages of both countries.

I also have an MA in Translation Studies from the University of Portsmouth. This has given me an in-depth understanding of the theoretical as well as the practical side of translation. I have learned about a variety of techniques that are available to the translator and have gained an awareness of when it is appropriate to use such techniques. I also picked up valuable skills concerning the use of computers in translation, including translation memory software and terminology management. These skills enable me to produce high quality and accurate translations that are relevant to the target audience.

My rates are charged per source word and are dependent on the subject area and complexity of the text but I believe you will find them competitive. I will respond quickly with a quote whenever offered work.

I am happy to work evenings and weekends when required and do not charge extra for this service.
