Tal como
las marcas de la luna
pueden delatar su historia,
debemos buscar las marcas
de las esculturas de Atchugarry
para decodificar la suya.
Ante todo
nos habla
su material,
la materia prima
el mármol
blanco mármol de Carrara.
Algunas veces
el rosado mármol de Portugal,
mármol negro de Bélgica,
mármol gris Bardiglio.
Otras veces
el metal:
bronce,
hierro,
acero.
Circunstancialmente,
la madera.
Y ¿por qué no?
las retorcidas raíces
de viejos olivos.
Inquieto
repertorio de materiales
siempre
persiguiendo
una nueva dimensión
para su vocación formal.
De las actuales esculturas
pocas detentan título
(¿serían capaces de admitirlo?).
Las que sí lo tienen
no delatan intenciones,
motivaciones
de su autor.

Just as
the marks on the moon
can reveal its history
we have to look for signs
in Atchugarry’s sculptures
to decode his.
Above all
his materials speak,
raw materials –
Marble
white marble from Carrara.
Sometimes
rose-colored marble from Portugal,
black marble from Belgium,
grey Bardiglio marble.
Other times
metal:
bronze,
iron,
steel.
And depending,
wood.

The twisted roots
of ancient olive trees.
Uneasy

a new dimension
for their proper calling.
Of the actual sculptures
