ελιγμός Explanation: -gyration με την έννοια του συνειρμικού άλματος, του νοητικού τεχνάσματος, του ελιγμού και της συστροφής προκειμένου να αποφευχθεί ή να βιωθεί διαφορετικά ο πόνος/το οδυνηρό ερέθισμα... ο φλοιός/εγκέφαλος δηλαδή, κάνει τα ακροβατικά του/τις πιρουέτες του/τους ακροβατισμούς του για να χειριστεί/αντιμετωπίσει τον πόνο... - ίσως όλο το does gyrations μπορεί να αποδοθεί απλά "ελίσσεται", από το "κάνει ελιγμούς"... για να μη σου πω πως θα μπορούσε άνετα να αποδοθεί με το "πνευματικές πιρουέτες", χωρίς να ξεφύγει από το ύφος του λόγου του Janov... - ακόμα και ερμηνεύοντας το gyration ως "oscillation or varying between states" και όχι ως "rotation, revolution, whirling, twirling, spinning, turning, revolving, twisting", πάλι το "ελιγμός" κολλάει... δηλαδή και να εννοείται πως ο φλοιός κινείται/αμφιταλαντεύεται/oscillates ανάμεσα σε δύο επιλογές, αυτές του καθολικού shutdown ή της mystical symbolization, ως πιθανές επιλογές αυτοπροστασίας από τον υπερβολικό πόνο, και πάλι το "ελισσεται" περιγράφει καλά τη διαδικασία... - σαφώς το gyration εδώ δεν έχει να κάνει με την ελίκωση του εγκεφάλου... καμία σχέση με τις έλικες του εγκεφαλικού φλοιού... - δες ένα άλλο παράδειγμα του ίδιου του Janov για το πώς χρησιμοποιεί τον όρο: He doesn't have the fully operating neocortex that he will have as an adult. Here is something else gyrations in the plural Chun and his colleagues have been looking at what controls the formation of the cerebral cortex, the part of the brain that is believed to be involved in higher functions, like memory, cognition, and the interpretation of sensory input. The vast majority of these cerebral cortex neurons are generated before birth, and Chun and his colleagues wanted to know what signals controlled this process in early development. When developing brains are exposed to LPA, the brains spontaneously form the gyrated structures that are characteristic of higher mammals, like humans. These gyrations increase the surface area of the cerebral cortex that is believed to be essential to higher functions like intelligence and reasoning, which are characteristic of humans and other primates.
