French term

éclairage d'intersection

French to English Tech/Engineering Automotive / Cars & Trucks headlights
This is an option on an MPV, which has directional bi-xenon headlights with "éclairage d'intersection". I have found two possibilities: automatic height adjustment and dynamic curve lighting - the second seems more appropriate, but I'm not sure. Thanks for your help!

cornering light

The dynamic cornering light is part of the adaptive light system and illuminates your way by pivoting the headlight module to follow the twists and turns in the road ahead. This greatly improves illumination of the road in front of the vehicle and to the sides, making it easier for the driver to anticipate the course of the road ahead. On the basis of several parameters including vehicle speed, steering angle and yaw rate, the system's control function calculates the necessary change in the position of the headlights and gives out the necessary signals.

Got some extra information which appears to back up the above:

and a different BMW doc in English
In combination with the available xenon headlights, the new BMW 5 Series comes with a daytime running light function (selectable via Vehicle memory System) using the corona rings in the dual round headlights. The headlights include Adaptive Headlight technology, illuminating the road ahead following the curves taken by the driver. In this case, the headlights swivel in accordance with the position of the steering wheel, the yaw rate of the car, and its road speed. In addition, the Cornering Light function adjusts the direction of the headlights when turning corners at less than 25 mph.
