Ces vérifications sont nécessaires pour tous les arguments susceptibles d'être passés avec une fonction de manipulation de fichier.

What is the correct English terminology? To pass an argument? To submit an argument? To register an argument? I appreciate your help!

Discussion

Non-ProZ.com Oct 2, 2004:
The suggestion of "entering" arguments was made after grading. A doublecheck shows that in the web design world, that terminology appears to be used very little. On the other hand, (to the extent that Google constitutes an authority) Google shows lots of hits related to the "passing" of arguments.

French term (edited): pass

passed from a function

Try this: "These verifications are neccessary for all arguments that could be passed from a file manipulation function." or "...passed from a function that manipulates files." Or you can use "passed with" instead of "passed from". (I used to be a software programmer, so I am familiar with the terminology!)
