I have a couple of birth certificates and a marriage certificate from Haiti with
"né a nette" and "domicilié a nette".
I've never seen this.
I'm sure it's not "born in net, residing in net".
Could this mean within the noted location/commune, such "born locally, residing locally"?
Or within the Republic? (Republique du Haiti)

So I guess you would not translate the city name in English and would write it as it appears on the certificate: Nette.
Ouanaminthe, Haiti, but not capitalized (certs lack punctuation, as well). So it occurred to me that "nette" may be an actual location, but I can find a Terre Nette, but not a simple "Nette" in Haiti.
