Bio

I am a linguist and language enthusiast.

Languages (8): Cantonese, Mandarin, Shanghainese, English, Italian, Spanish, German and Japanese

Qualifications: PhD/MA/BA (1st hons) in Linguistics, Translation Certification (Toronto), TESOL (Teaching English) and Teaching Mandarin

These skills and qualifications have been acquired through my childhood in Shanghai and Hong Kong, plus my study and work experience in England, Spain, German, Italy, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Singapore. I have worked 5 years in IT, over 12 years in Education, and 1 year in Foreign Trade; plus translating, interpreting, and conducting cross-cultural training for companies across a wide range of sectors.

In terms of Freelance language services, I have done much on translation, interpretation (both consecutive and simultaneous), transcription, language teaching, and cross-cultural training. 

In recent years, I have been conducting research on communication and teaching linguistics and communication courses at the university level for about 10 years in Singapore; and I moved to Italy in 2022.
