Bio
Languages and communication have always been my passion. I would have never imagined that I could make a profitable living by doing what I love most, but that's what I get to do every day!

By age 10, I learned Morse code from a walkie-talkie that my parents gave me for Christmas, hoping to communicate with a passing ship (but all I got was random chatter from taxi drivers). Finally, when I was 15, I learned the sign language alphabet from a picture in Le Petit Larousse and taught it to my best friends as a "secret" way of communication.

I'm a native Spanish speaker, but since I have traveled to the United States almost every summer since I was four years old, I gained fluency in English during childhood. In addition, I spent my teenage years studying French at L'Alliance Française and learned some Japanese while living in Okinawa.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality and have worked as a Sales Manager for almost ten years. That experience became a great asset because I had the opportunity of working with people from all over the world and traveled to many countries, which enhanced my command of languages and taught me how to work with people from different backgrounds and cultures.

When I moved to the United States, I continued working in hospitality. Many workers were Spanish speakers with limited English proficiency (LEP). So I became an impromptu interpreter and translator whenever we had staff meetings or had to complete paperwork.

That was pivotal because I realized the community of individuals with limited English proficiency was largely underserved. I also realized that my bilingual skills were insufficient to be an interpreter, so I started studying.

It became my mission to put my skills to good use to help level the playing field by providing quality language access when they need it the most.

In my spare time, I create videos for my YouTube channel, Interprepedia, where I share resources, reviews, and the occasional rant about all things interpreting.

Let's get in touch if you want to chat about a possible collaboration, mentoring, or your love for languages!
