Educated in Anthropology, International Relations, and interpreting. Previous work experiences include language teacher, immigration officer, and market researcher. Started translating in 2017, and have translated varying texts, articles, and literature. I was born in Norway but moved to the United States with my family as a young child. I have also studied and worked in both Norway and the United States. I would categorize myself as bilingual, and both fluent in Norwegian and English. I recently moved back to the United States after studying, working, and living in Norway for about 8 years. I have always been asked to translate and interpret between Norwegian to English by family and friends. I realized at a young age that I loved languages, leading me to study French and Spanish as well. I became certified in interpreting in 2016 and quickly realized that I should also look more seriously into translation as a profession. I've been slowly building up my translation career since 2017, and I really enjoy it. I have a background in teaching, Norwegian/International immigration law, comparative politics, sociology, anthropology, and market research. These are areas that I feel very comfortable translating, but I also consider myself to have very strong research skills and so I'm usually comfortable and excited to branch out into other fields as well. |
