Source text - English The drug being studied is the Dexamethasone Posterior Segment Drug Delivery System (DEX PS DDS). The DEX PS DDS is 0.45 mm in diameter (width) and up to 6.5 mm in length. It is made of a material similar to the material used for sutures (stitches) that are absorbed by the body. The DEX PS DDS also contains the drug dexamethasone. The DEX PS DDS Applicator System is a sterile (germ free), single use device shaped like a pen with a needle on one end. The applicator contains one DEX PS DDS and is used to insert the DEX PS DDS into the inside of the back of the eye during a surgical procedure. DEX PS DDS slowly releases dexamethasone and dissolves over time.
