Gardening -- very stress-free and looking at green is very relaxing and therapeutic. It's also mild exercise and you get to go outside and get some fresh air.

Take a walk with my dogs Jun 30, 2013

Twice a day I take my dogs for a mile-long walk. I also work out at the gym. Those are my main routine interruptions during the day.

Dog walks Jun 30, 2013

Yes, walk the dogs twice a day. I daren't start gardening or I'd get carried away and never come back inside..... I might do some cooking or baking too, if I've achieved my quota and need some light relief or have people coming round. I used to do dance/yoga during the day, but I find that takes too much time out of the working day and have tended to shift most of my leisure activities to the evening/weekend now.

It depends on the time of the day, the season, the weather or my mood: have a cup of coffee, water my plants (no real garden but a lovely terrace), do some housework, watch TV, read, go for a walk, have a snack, call my mother, children or grandchildren, go shopping...

Other, other, other...
At least 3 or 4 of the options apply, to wit: errands, walk, chores, and occasionally siesta to alleviate post-prandial somnolence, but usually only after lunching out.

Pax Julian, gardening comes under my "chores" heading.

Walk. Jun 30, 2013

Most of the time I take a walk with my dog. I also love to watch TV shows with my daughter, going to Publix , eat , and take a nap. Just a little bit of everything to relax.

Have a go at KudoZ Jun 30, 2013

As I described in http://www.proz.com/translation-articles/articles/509/1/Confessions-of-a-'KudoZ-point-grabber' I found (and find) it relaxing to visit the KudoZ arena (the terminology university) and have some stimulating time of helping and learning in order to prepare my brain for the often laborious toiling at a badly written original.... A walk by the sea Jun 30, 2013

I invariably hop into the car or onto the motorbike for the 3 mile journey to my local beach for the soothing sound of the sea, taking the dreaded mobile with me to check for incoming...

I'm a "mad knitter" and my free time is shared between playing with my cat and knitting

All of the above+ Jun 30, 2013

+ I fancy myself an artist, so I like to draw during my breaks. When I'm not doing any of the other things on that list, I also enjoy papercraft (pepakura style).

Other, of course Jun 30, 2013

The 'Other' in my case involves reading one or more books, watching a documentary, movie or cartoons on TV, snacking on nuts while sipping a cup of tea, perusing the newspaper, etc.
