PayPal has been absolutely great, in my experience. So easy, so convenient, both for eBay and for payments from outsourcers in other countries. I have, however, received many spoof emails claiming to come from PayPal. I never answer them and always follow PayPal's security guidelines for dealing with them. New users, *please* check out the security/spoof/fraud pages before continuing!
Same here, and some of them are quite good spoofs... (even better than E-Bay fake mails, hehehee...) I have never had a problem with PayPal yet (**knock on wood**), apart from my affair with Onadel (which was, simply, a non-paying company which agreed to pay via PayPal). If they only reduced the charges... Regards Francisco

But I'm a regular reporter of spoofs and phising - and a regular receiver of thank-you notes from the paypay staff.

I may have said "No" too quickly... | Mar 22, 2006 |
I did have an "identity crisis" on PayPal. I had registered under two different e-mail addresses, which also had different street addresses (once earlier for eBay, and then a couple of years later for my business). The conflict kept me unable to use PayPal for a while, but a very nice gentleman (in India?) finally got to the bottom of the confusion and put me back in business.
and I'm very happy with it. As I've received only small amounts through PayPal until the moment (much less than 100€), I don't transfer I use that money to buy books, DVDs or video games on Ebay and it's very practical to be a PayPal user for that.
I find the fees for credit card payments horrendous. | Mar 22, 2006 |
The amount they deduct when somebody in Asia decides to pay me (in Europe) with a credit card is amazingly high (IMHO)! I accepted that type of payment once and never again... Otherwise, I've had absolutely no problems with PayPal and it is rather convenient.
Is there an alternative? | Mar 22, 2006 |

The bank transfer fees are amazingly higher as the Paypal fees, as far as I know.

Rates are too high | Mar 24, 2006 |
Other than that I am really happy with PayPal. However Moneybookers is cheaper. For that reason I usually choose to get paid by moneybookers rather that by Paypal. I had a problem with moneybookers though. I needed help from their customer service and although I sent mails over a month and never got a reply. However I still use their service. Cheers
WHAT IS THE EXPERIENCE IN ARGENTINA??? | Nov 22, 2011 |

Cheers I do not know Argentine translators who get paid by PayPal. One of my clients insists that I open an account wtih them. Is there any safety problem involved? What is the cost? Many times I have received e-mails asking me to confirm my PayPal account and password even though I hever had an account with them. This frightens me to some extent. Roberto Ingledew
