Not so long ago, it was possible to suggest that the PRO or NON PRO status of a KudoZ question be changed.
If two others agreed with the suggestion, the PRO or NON PRO status was changed.
Why is it no longer possible?
I know it led to disagreements, but on the whole I think it functioned well.
My personal opinion is that if anyone needs to ask, it is probably PRO, but there are exceptions, and I respect other people's opinions.

I believe I have asked questions myself in the past, which were kindly answered by Dutch colleagues, when I helped a friend occasionally. I know practically no Dutch at all, so my questions might have been very simple for someone who does.
On the other hand, judging from the discussions raised by many of the questions classified by askers as NON PRO, they are not always as simple as they appear at first sight. They cannot in fact be answered by anyone without a dictionary.
The criterion is whether any bilingual person could answer the question without a dictionary.
Points awarded for answering NON PRO questions are not added to the answerer's total as PRO answers are.
I may grab my dictionaries more often than the average bilingual person, because I like to be quite sure. I enjoy poking about in dictionaries, and collect them!
However, I am also regularly asked by clients, friends, my husband and others to explain expressions, when I do not have a dictionary at hand, and I cannot always give a translation just like that.
Maybe interpreters are better at coming up with translations 'on the run', but they are not just 'any bilingual person', they are true specialists.
So why is it apparently not possible to propose changing a NON-PRO question to PRO?

I've been wondering what happened to that button, too. I have a "Mark as non-PRO" button, but I haven't seen a "vote" button in some time.

Maybe I should add that I still use the old interface.

It's still there, but it has been moved in the new UI:
In earlier versions of the new UI, it was hidden behind an obscure 'Edit' icon, but it's very visible now.

The PRO/NON-PRO sign is visible now, but how do you vote to change the status?
I stick to the old interface, so no problem; I have the "vote PRO/NON-PRO" option as usual. It must be hidden somewhere in the new version.

I still use the original layout, and today I cannot see the button at all. Yesterday I could see the button, but nothing happened when I clicked on it.
I wanted to change a Non-PRO question to PRO as usual.
OK, I will ask support whether they can help.
