And the acronym stands for:
Αριθμός Αδειας Διάθεσης στην Αγορά (ΑΑΔΑ)

Sorry, the site kept entering the same link. To understand what a marketing authorisation is, Google "marketing authorisation" definition - with the inverted commas and you will reach a whole list of references defining what a marketing authorisation is.
Note from asker:
Thanks Peter, that's what I thought, but couldn't find confirmation for some reason - yes, I know about marketing authorisations |

Danae Seemann
: The English translation provided generally applies to medicinal products, not plant protection products. However, the acronym is correct.

I disgree with you. I used to import and market agricultural pharmaceuticals in Greece for over 35 years and the manufacturers always used to refer to them as "marketing authorisations" and "marketing authoristion numbers".

In answer to Danae Seemann’s comment that the term ‘marketing authorisation’ only applies to medicinal products, I suggest that she looks at the references listed in these pages:
https://www.google.co.uk/search?ei=zH_lW_XRHZDQwALn1ozwAw&q=...
Agricultural pharmaceuticals are mainly pesticides, the above references refer to the marketing authorisations of pesticides.
I had two commercial companies in Greece for over 35 years. Their main purpose was to import and market agricultural pharmaceuticals and chemicals throughout Greece. Most of the products required marketing authorisations from EOF and/or the Ministry of Agriculture. All of the manufacturers of these products referred to the marketing licences as ‘marketing authorisations’.
