Spanish term or phrase: trazado
Buenas tardes,

--> "xxx is an artificial intelligence software applied to the automatic development of TRACING of linear infrastructure."

-->"The program allows to obtain in a very fast way the tracing of alternative infrastructures"

Thank you very much in advance for your answers.

Explanation:
I think this is probably the most useful default option, but in particular cases you may well have to translate "trazado" differently; sometimes it will be "route" (where a particular road goes) and sometimes routing (deciding where it should go), for example. I would forget about "tracing" entirely, and I agree with you that "design" will normally be too general, though it can probably work sometimes. But if you look for "road planning" and "road layout" I think you'll see that this is often the equivalent of "trazado".

Specifically, I would say that "layout" would work in your examples 1 and 2, and that in 3 "route" would be fine ("alternative route" rather than "route alternative").

Explanation:
I think this could fit in quite nicely and is a well -used term. The software obviously facilitates route planning.
