Overall topic: maintenance guide for a generator.
This step is discussing the mounting of the module in the generator.
"Colocar el módulo en el suelo apoyado sobre plancha de goma ó sobre tablas de madera, con los taladros y enganches de estrobado en la parte superior. Colocar en taladros M-24 del frente L.A. de la carcasa, dos fijas de situación y centrado ( C-0355-3 ó C-1207) en sentido opuesto."
Fijas are just normal spanners (I believe) but "fijas de situación" and to be honest I'm not sure about "...y centrado en sentido opuesto.", but imagine that will come when I know what the first part means.

Still on the skf site, I've found what seem to be parallel English and Spanish versions of the page in question, so I don't really understand it, but at least the English version of the site says "dowel pin", so that's a start.

Steel dowel pins are no rarity. Just google "steel dowel pin". So on that one I'm sure at least.

The centrado bit seems also to be covered in the skf documents, making me think that the dowel pins are for locating (situación) and centring (centrado), though I don't understand how "en sentido opuesto" fits in.

| Its true Mike I did an 'image search' on google and 95% were metallic.....sorry, I just remember using them in woodwork classes and didn't realise they were metallic as well....At the moment i've put dowel pin, however later in the document they are removed using a spanner....from what I've seen in the images it is not very typical that they have a flat/hexagonal side to allow removal with a spanner... Any ideas about "fijas de centrado" (I'm thinking about "centring dowel pins" - to aid centre something!!). Thanks again for you help |

: after reading the SKF - which could not be obtained by the link provided - the EN page definitely states Dowel Pins.
