German term

Geschlossener Zulassungsfonds

German to English Bus/Financial Medical: Pharmaceuticals Clinical trial
This appears in a list of advantages for investors who might want to invest in this herbal medicinal product. It is included in a list among things like "Possible international expansion" and "Manageable number of competitors"

So I was thinking something like "finalized funding approval" but I'm not at all sure...

funnily enough i just came across this phrase when translating something from diapharm, and the client had a query about my 'closed approval funds' (yes i know - v literal). i hadn't come across this phrase before. but uyuni's link does have the next sentence which explains it a little. max. input by investors etc. but this doesn't account for the 'zulassung' element - i.e. authorisation. is there a contract law thing relevant here?
freekfluweel Jul 30, 2012:
@uyuni you're right. Just me being sloppy!
uyuni Jul 29, 2012:
@ freekfluweel Omit the *s* in English singular (NOT in German!).

pre-approval closed-end fund

nur vielleicht...

Es handelt sich um einen geschlossenen Fonds (closed-end fund), bei dem die Investoren gemeinsam die vor der Zulassung des Produkts anfallenden Entwicklungskosten tragen.

closed-end fund to finance approval matters

"Approval matters" is very broad here. Thus, other answerer's idea might be adopted: "closed-end fund to finance pre-approval matters".
