Medical: Cardiology
Genetic inheritance.
Hi to all you Kudoz-ers out there.,...
This is taken from a clinical research paper for publication in the UK/US. The trial was conducted in Spain. It deals with a genetic heart disease (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) - thickening of the heart muscle which is often the reason why professional sportsmen/women sometimes die of a heart attack in their twenties). The paper mainly discusses screening and giving advice / counselling to immediate relatives of known carriers of the gene mutation.
My question is how do I distinguish between "consejo laboral" and "profesional" in the following sentence:
"En cuanto al ***consejo laboral*** y deportivo, la Sociedad Europea de Cardiología desaconseja la actividad deportiva competitiva a los sujetos con genotipo positivo y fenotipo negativo, pero no establece recomendaciones acerca del ***consejo profesional***."
Any pointers on "consejo deportivo" would also be welcome.
TIA,
Neil

I often use "workplace" as an alternative to "labour", both of which I feel have more "cloth cap" or blue collar ovetones than the well-worn "professional"...
